Chapter 565:
Tracy patted the back of my hand, her gaze calm and unwavering. “Lianne, I’m not rushing into this. I agreed to give him a chance because he’s genuinely proven himself over the past few days. But if he ever crosses my line, or makes the wrong call, I’ll walk away and never look back. I’m not giving up my principles for anyone.”
Seeing how firm and confident Tracy was finally put some of my worries to rest.
Unfortunately, that peace didn’t last long.
We had only just sat down at the restaurant and hadn’t even started eating when my phone began vibrating nonstop.
Frank was calling.
My heart immediately sank, and I quickly stepped out into the hallway to answer.
“Lianne, is Tracy seeing someone?”
Even through the phone, I could feel the fury radiating from Frank.
Over the years, he had come to regard Tracy as a younger sister, and there was no hiding this from him now.

Taking a deep breath, I admitted, “She was planning to tell you herself soon.”
“Who is it?” he demanded, his voice dangerously close to erupting.
“It’s… Jeremy.”
The line fell completely silent. Then Frank’s furious roar exploded through the speaker. “Jeremy? That bastard who helped Ivy before? Has Tracy completely lost her mind? I will never agree to this relationship. Absolutely not.”
“Frank, take it easy…”
“Take it easy?” Frank barked. “Lianne, you tell Tracy she has two choices: break up with him, or forget she ever knew me. End of story.”
The call cut off without warning. Standing alone in the hallway, I rubbed my throbbing temples as a headache began to build.
I had known from the very beginning that this relationship would eventually cause an uproar.
Turning to head back toward the restaurant, I walked straight into a broad, familiar chest.
At some point, Ethan had followed me out. His intense gaze remained fixed on me, as though he feared I might use that phone call as an opportunity to run away.
“What did Frank want?” he asked, lowering his head to inhale near my neck, his voice dangerously low. “Why does he always come to you whenever something happens? Lianne, I’m really starting to dislike that.”
Seeing jealousy written all over his face, I couldn’t help smiling. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I rubbed my nose lightly against his.
“He’s only worried about Tracy’s relationship. Ethan, are you seriously jealous over this? Aren’t you being a little too possessive?”
“Possessive? So what?” His expression darkened immediately. “I’m your mate. Do you know I have to fight the urge to tear him apart every single time?”
His tone grew sharper as he spoke, a feral intensity flashing through his eyes.
Then his hand slid to the back of my head, and before I could react, he captured my lips in a fierce kiss.
It felt almost punitive, as though he were venting every ounce of his jealousy on me, leaving me breathless and completely unable to resist.
By the time he finally released me, my knees had gone weak, forcing me to cling to him for support.
When we returned to the restaurant, the atmosphere had noticeably changed.
Tracy had clearly realized something was wrong. Rising from her seat, she took a steadying breath before turning to Jeremy. “I’m going to talk to Frank.”
