Chapter 301:
After three years apart, I had never imagined that her wolf had returned.
Watching her fight her way through those thugs like a warrior thrown into battle, I realized I was still helplessly drawn to her.
The moment those filthy hands touched her and hurt her, the wolf inside me had nearly gone out of control on the spot.
In that instant, the only thing I wanted was to rip apart anything that dared lay a hand on her.
“I’m sorry. I won’t mention it again.” Noah lowered his head at once.

He had stayed at my side for years, long enough to know that Lianne was the most forbidden topic in my heart.
I inhaled slowly, let my body sink back into the sofa, and sat there without speaking for a long while.
For the first time in three years, I opened up to Noah without holding anything back.
“I spent three years chasing after her, and my heart was twisted into knots. But after seeing her again, I understand now that she’s doing well, that she has her own work, her own life…”
A bitter smile curved at my mouth, and loneliness settled deep in my eyes. “It’s time for me to let go. I need to set her free, and I need to set myself free as well.”
After saying that, I shut the laptop before Noah had the chance to reply.
“Have the car brought around. I’m heading to the airport.”
Once the call was over, I let my eyes sweep across the room to confirm that I had not left anything behind, then rose and walked out.
Just as I arrived at the hotel front desk to complete the checkout, a bright voice suddenly rang out behind me.
“Sir! Please hold on for a second!”
I halted and turned back. It was the receptionist who had helped me pass along the candies yesterday.
She hurried toward me, wearing a polished smile meant for guests.
“You’re indeed leaving on time. The mother of the little girl who got your candy yesterday left behind a business card for you. She wanted to thank you in person and repay you for the sweets.”
She pulled a delicate white business card from her pocket, about to hand it over to me.
“There’s no need for that.” I made no move to take it, my voice cool. “Tell her the candy was a gift for the child. There’s no need for thanks.”
With that, I turned away and strode toward the black car waiting at the hotel entrance.
Lianne’s POV:
I stayed in the hospital for a full day, and a werewolf’s strong healing ability kept me from appearing too frail.
By evening, the stabbing pain in my head had lessened considerably.
Tracy kept calling me, and in the end, I could not hide the incident from her any longer. I had no choice but to tell her that I was in the hospital.
