Chapter 675:
Only after signing the last document did I lean back, pressing my fingers against my aching temples. I picked up my phone and immediately called Lianne. The only response was the cold, repetitive tone of a busy line.
My brows knitted together. Who was she talking to?
At this hour, who could possibly keep her on the phone for so long?
Just then, a knock sounded at the door. “Alpha.”
Noah stepped into the study carrying another stack of files. His footsteps were unusually quiet, as though he feared making too much noise.

He stole a cautious glance at my expression before quickly lowering his eyes, every movement betraying his unease.
Ethan’s POV:
A crushing silence hung over the room, making every breath feel heavy.
I fixed Noah with a frosty stare and said sharply, “I was crystal clear when I told you not to let Lianne know about my health. You’ve become far too comfortable ignoring my orders.”
“I didn’t have another option!” Noah shot back, meeting my eyes without hesitation. “You’ve refused every treatment plan, squeezed ten days of work into only two, and survived on barely three hours of sleep each night. You spend your days battling ruthless business rivals, then devote your evenings to Ruby and Silas. You’re running yourself into the ground. If I hadn’t contacted Lianne, would you rather have blacked out during a negotiation?”
“I still have responsibilities waiting for me back home.”
The excuse left my mouth stiffly as I deliberately avoided looking at him.
Noah laughed dryly before tearing away my disguise. “Responsibilities? This has everything to do with Lianne. You’re terrified that if you’re gone one extra day, someone else will swoop in and win her over.”
I said nothing. My fingers curled into tight fists, the veins across my hands pulsing from fatigue and barely contained frustration.
“Alpha, the doctor is outside.” Noticing my hesitation, Noah immediately pressed his advantage. “You can go through paperwork while the treatment is underway. It won’t interfere with your schedule. But if you refuse to cooperate and Lianne asks me later, I’ll have to admit you’re still refusing medical care.”
I shut my eyes as dizziness washed over me. After a long pause, I finally lifted a hand in surrender. “Send the doctor in.”
Relief spread across Noah’s face. He had barely turned toward the door before I called after him.
“Noah, did you identify the sender? Who delivered those flowers to Lianne?” I asked coldly.
He stopped, opened the investigation report on his tablet, and passed it over. “Yes. Whoever ordered them tried to cover their tracks by using a local delivery company, but they overlooked one detail. The phone number attached to the order was genuine. I followed it…”
I took the tablet and searched for the number through a social media app.
The results appeared a moment later. The account belonged to Frank.
Everything I had forced myself to bottle up erupted in an instant, like flames exploding after fuel was thrown onto glowing embers.
It was him again. That persistent nuisance who refused to stay away from Lianne, always trying to take my place.
Now he had even dared to provoke me so openly.
