Chapter 448:
A look of crazed satisfaction spread across Ivy’s face. She roughly grabbed my hair and jerked my head back, forcing my neck upward and intensifying the pain. “That’s it! Ethan Voss, show me the same cold-hearted cruelty you showed when you rejected me. Crawl over here on your knees and beg me to become your mate!”
Ethan’s jaw tightened, but his eyes never shifted toward Ivy.
“Ivy… marry me.” He finally broke the silence. “Become the Luna of the Thorn Pack. Become my mate. Let Lianne go, and I’ll do the bonding ceremony with you right now.”
“Still not enough! Say it again! Swear you’ll love me, and only me, for the rest of your life!” Ivy screamed wildly.
I watched Ethan kneeling on the floor as he slowly advanced toward us on his knees.
I felt as though my heart was being shredded apart, a suffering far worse than the silver poison consuming my bones. Hopelessness completely engulfed me.
Then, as though she wanted to enjoy the spectacle by herself, Ivy commanded the guards to leave. “Out! All of you! Leave now! If anyone dares sneak a look, I’ll kill her!”
The heavy door slammed shut with a booming sound, plunging the warehouse into an unsettling silence. Inside, only the three of us were left behind.

Lianne’s POV
Ivy finally tore away every last layer of her pretense. Her arm tightened around my neck, and her voice trembled as she muttered, “Ethan, do you have any idea what I’ve gone through these past three years?”
Her tone suddenly turned soft, but the cold undertone sent chills through me. “To become someone worthy of standing beside you, I suffered endless scorn from the elders. I pushed myself day and night to learn how to govern the pack and become a proper Luna. I even went through genetic enhancements, all so I could give you the strongest possible heir…”
She lowered her gaze and looked into my eyes, hatred burning fiercely within them. “And how did you repay me for that, Ethan? You abandoned me. In your eyes, there’s only this pathetic woman who gave birth to your two bastards! What makes her so special? What can she give you? Nothing! She only betrayed you and ran away. Tell me, what has she ever truly done for you?”
“Ivy, enough.” Ethan was now within ten feet of us. He slowly extended his hand toward her. “I’ll give you anything you want. Just let her go, and I’ll take you away with me right now.”
“Really?” Hope flickered in Ivy’s eyes, mixed with desperate longing. “You’ll really give me what I want? You swear?”
“Yes. I give you my word as Alpha of the Thorn Pack, and if that isn’t enough, I’ll swear it before the Moon Goddess as well.”
No werewolf dared lie before the Moon Goddess. The consequences would be severe.
The instant Ethan finished his vow, excitement flashed across Ivy’s face.
Their eyes met, and Ethan carefully stepped closer.
“Good… Come a little closer.” Ivy suddenly broke into a smile. “Just a little closer, and I’ll return her to you.”
Without a moment’s hesitation, Ethan obeyed.
Even though blood loss had numbed my senses, my instincts suddenly screamed with warning. In that instant, I realized something was off.
