Chapter 316:
Ethan’s POV:
The moment Ivy saw me, her eyes brightened at once.
She was dressed far more conservatively than usual today. She came toward me, her voice shaking with hurt as she said, “Ethan! I truly know I was wrong. For the past
three years, I have regretted my actions every single day… I came back this time to make things right. I’ll stay at the Voss Group and work hard. Please, just give me one chance.”
I did not even look at her. I only threw Noah a cold glance.

Noah understood at once and stepped forward to drag her away by force.
“Ethan, do me this one favor.”
Adrian appeared at the far end of the corridor, his voice calm and steady.
He walked over, glanced at Ivy, then turned his eyes to me. “I was the one who brought Ivy back. Whatever happened, she can still be of some value to the company, and I hold a seat on the board. Let her stay and help. It won’t do the company any harm.”
I stopped walking and turned to look at Adrian.
For the sake of family ties, I reluctantly left him a final shred of respect, though my voice stayed ice-cold.
“Keep her out of my sight. That’s all I ask.”
After saying that, I stepped past them and headed straight for my office.
Just as I was about to go in, Ivy suddenly rushed forward like she had lost her mind and planted both hands against the door, blocking my way.
She lifted her face, her eyes red, her voice rough with stubbornness. “Ethan! Are you really this cruel? I’ve already paid for what happened three years ago. Are you planning to never forgive me?”
Only then did I lift my gaze, my eyes cold and deep as they settled on her face.
At that instant, Lianne’s despair-filled eyes as she walked away flashed across my mind.
All of that had been because of Ivy.
“Get out of my way.” I turned away sharply, unmoved by the sharp cries Ivy hurled from behind me.
“Ethan! Are you in such a rush to push me away because you’ve made up with Lianne? Is she your new mate?”
My steps paused for the briefest moment. Without looking back, I answered in an icy voice, “That has nothing to do with you.”
I shoved the heavy wooden office door open and sealed all the noise outside behind me.
I sat down, and my gaze drifted uncontrollably to the corner of the desk, where the latest update on the Brinewick resort project had been placed.
I could not take in a single line of it. My thoughts were crowded with the image of Lianne at the construction site, dust all over her, blood staining her forehead.
Had her wounds healed? Was there anyone by her side taking care of her?
Was that man called Brian still hovering around her, giving her all his attention?
A deep, bitter sense of frustration and helplessness rose inside me.
I, the Alpha of the Thorn Pack, had been reduced to nothing more than guessing about how Lianne was doing.
After drawing in a breath, I could not stop myself from reaching out to Jeremy through the mind link.
The moment the connection went through, loud airport announcements sounded in the background.
“Are you heading back?” I asked.
