Chapter 956:
Tracy stared at me in complete shock. It took her a while to recover. Then she finally said, “Oh my gosh, Ethan really did all of that for you. He carried all that burden alone?”
“Yes.” I nodded, then looked at her seriously. “Tracy, you have to promise me you’ll keep this between us. Melisa can’t find out that anything has changed. If she is suspicious, Ethan’s entire plan could fall apart.”
She immediately nodded, her expression turning serious. “Don’t worry. I know how to keep a secret. I won’t tell anyone.”
Relief washed over me, and I nodded.

As Tracy and I continued talking about everything Ethan and I had endured, I suddenly felt a deep sense of guilt. I dropped my gaze and asked in a low, heavy tone, “Tracy, do you think things would have been easier for him if I hadn’t been so sensitive and stubborn? Maybe then he wouldn’t have had to carry all of this by himself.”
Tracy studied me in silence for a few moments, then answered seriously, “Lianne, you need to understand something. Ethan loves you exactly as you are. He has never wanted to change you. All he wants is for you to be by his side because you truly want to be there. Your sensitivity and stubbornness are part of who you are. That’s the woman he fell in love with. He never fell for some version of you that had been changed to please him. Do you understand?”
I stared at her. My eyes burned as I got emotional.
She went on, “So stop blaming yourself. When all of this is finally behind you, just remember to treasure him. After everything he has done for you, you need to tell him how important he is to you.”
Her words touched something inside me, and I quietly nodded. All I wanted was for Ethan and me to make it through this difficult period as quickly as possible.
Ethan returned home earlier than he usually did that day.
I was curled up on the sofa, scrolling through listings for potential studio spaces, when I heard the lock click. I looked up and saw him entering with his coat in hand. His brows were slightly furrowed, but the tension on his face eased the moment he saw me.
“Why are you home so early today?” I put my phone aside and shifted over to leave room for him beside me.
He came over and sat down. Rather than answer me, he said, “I heard you’re searching for a place to open your studio.”
I stared at him in surprise. “Who told you?”
Lianne’s POV:
“Tracy told me,” Ethan admitted without hesitation. “She messaged me earlier and mentioned that you’re planning to start a jewelry studio and have been searching for a suitable place.”
I couldn’t help sighing. Tracy could keep a secret when it truly mattered, but the moment it involved something harmless, she somehow became incapable of keeping quiet.
“Yes, that’s what I want to do.” I nodded. “Once things calm down, I’d like to return to jewelry design.”
