Ethan’s POV:
Melisa stood just outside the bathroom, her wet hair framing her face while a faint flush warmed her cheeks. She lingered there awkwardly, clearly waiting for me to tell her what came next.
“Get on the bed.” My command was curt enough to leave no room for discussion.
She hesitated briefly before doing as instructed. She crossed the room and settled onto the mattress, her eyes soon drifting toward the nightstand.
A black blindfold and several coils of rope had been placed there beforehand. Something flickered across her expression. She pressed her lips together but kept her thoughts to herself.
I approached at an unhurried pace and stopped beside the mattress. Looking down at her, I noticed the quickening rhythm of her breaths and the nervous rise and fall of her chest.
My voice remained detached. “You can still change your mind.”
She lifted her eyes toward me. Whatever uncertainty she had disappeared beneath a stubborn resolve. “I’m not changing my mind. Ethan, I want you. I want to become your Luna.”
There was obvious yearning in her gaze, but it stirred nothing within me. I picked up the blindfold and dropped it onto the mattress. “Put it on. Make sure it’s secure.”

She stared at it for a moment before reaching down. After fumbling with it briefly, she covered her eyes and tied it behind her head. The knot was loose, leaving enough space for her to see through the bottom.
“Tighter.” My tone sharpened. “I told you to make it tight.”
She startled at the command and hurriedly adjusted it, pulling the fabric firmly into place until her vision was completely blocked.
Unable to see what was happening around her, she grew visibly tense. Her voice came out shaky. “Ethan, I’ve never done this before. Please… don’t be rough.”
“Mm. Stay where you are.”
She obeyed, lying rigidly against the mattress with both hands resting over her chest. Her fingers betrayed how nervous she was.
I switched the room lights off and closed the curtains, leaving the suite cloaked in darkness.
A muted lamp beside the bed cast just enough light to outline her tense form. I crossed to the table and struck a match, lighting the scented candle waiting there. Within moments, its unusual fragrance began spreading through the room.
I returned to the bedside and gave her one final instruction. “Don’t make a sound unless I tell you to. Whatever happens, stay quiet.”
She caught her lower lip between her teeth and gave a small nod.
The fragrance gradually intensified. The candle had been prepared from a rare blend designed to affect witches of Melisa’s bloodline. I had no certainty that it would work, but there was no other way to test it.
Then I noticed the first changes.
Her breathing became uneven, each breath shorter than the last. Color crept across her cheeks, and her body shifted restlessly against the sheets. Her fingers curled into the fabric as she began whispering my name. “Ethan… Ethan…”
There was a softness in her voice that sounded almost like longing.
I remained several steps away, observing her without emotion.
