Chapter 904:
Lianne’s POV:
I made my way back to the villa in a fog, barely aware of the path beneath my feet.
The instant I stepped through the entrance, the stillness inside overwhelmed me. The silence was almost suffocating.
Not long ago, this place had been filled with the children’s laughter and Ethan’s low, affectionate voice. Now, there was nothing. I was the only person left in the entire house.
His charcoal cardigan lay abandoned across the living room sofa. I approached slowly, picked it up, and wrapped both hands around it. A faint trace of his familiar scent remained in the fabric.
For the first time, I truly understood how badly I had taken him for granted. I had become reckless because Ethan had indulged me for too long.
I had acted stubbornly, questioned him at every turn, and threatened to leave again and again because I believed he would always give in. I was certain he would come after me, no matter how far I pushed him. But this time, he had actually left. The realization tore through me. My legs gave way, forcing me down onto the floor as tears spilled freely from my eyes.

Eventually, I swallowed my pride, reached into my bag with trembling fingers, and found my phone. I called him.
But Ethan didn’t answer his phone.
I bit down on my lip and tried again. Still no response.
Drawing in a shaky breath, I made a third attempt. The ringing continued for so long that I nearly expected it to go unanswered again. Then, at last, the call connected.
“Hello.” His voice sounded rough and distant, stripped of the warmth I once knew.
I tightened my grip around the phone. “Ethan… I was wrong. I’ll change. I won’t keep acting on impulse or questioning everything you do. I’ll listen to you from now on. Please come back, okay? We can still have a good life together. Please. Don’t leave me.”
Silence followed from his side. Several agonizing seconds passed.
I couldn’t bear it and continued, my words shaking, “Earlier today, I saw Noah taking Melisa upstairs. Are you… planning to be with her? If you just need some time away from me, I’ll wait. I don’t care how long it takes. A month, a year, even ten years. I’ll still wait for you.”
At that point, pride meant nothing to me. All I wanted was the Ethan I remembered. The man who had once treated me with tenderness and made me feel cherished. Ethan said nothing for so long that I wondered whether the connection had been lost.
Finally, his tired voice came through. “Lianne, I’m busy right now. We’ll talk another time.”
“Ethan!” I called immediately, panic rising in my chest. “Please, just give me an answer.”
