Chapter 754:
“Wait…” Tracy’s voice suddenly turned cautious. She kept her eyes on the rearview mirror, her brows slowly knitting together. “Lianne, have you noticed that black car behind us? It’s been following us ever since we left the courthouse.”
I looked into the mirror.
A black sedan was driving behind us, keeping the same distance the entire time. It never tried to overtake us or fall farther back, but its constant presence was enough to make me uneasy.
“Maybe it’s just heading in the same direction,” I said, trying to reassure her, even as a quiet sense of alarm crept into my own heart.
Tracy didn’t look convinced. She immediately picked up her phone and called Jeremy, firing off one question after another the moment he answered.

Only after Jeremy assured her that he hadn’t sent anyone to follow her did she finally let out a deep breath. Pressing a hand to her chest, she said, “Thank goodness, it wasn’t him. I actually thought Jeremy had gone overboard again and sent people to watch me twenty-four hours a day.”
Lianne’s POV
I looked at Tracy with a teasing smile. “You kept talking about wanting a handsome guy who would be completely devoted to you. Now you’ve finally got one, and you’re complaining?”
“That’s not the same!” Tracy let out a helpless sigh. “When Jeremy’s with me, he’s as loyal and affectionate as a golden retriever, always doing everything he can to make me happy. But the second he’s around other people, he’s ruthless, fearless, and completely out of control. Once he loses his temper, nobody can hold him back. I’m honestly scared that one day he’ll do something outrageous for my sake and throw the whole city into chaos.”
Gripping the steering wheel, I listened to her complaint and couldn’t stop myself from laughing. “You’re unbelievable, Tracy. Back when you couldn’t have him, you couldn’t stop thinking about him. Now that you’re together, you think he’s too clingy. You’re not complaining at all. You’re just showing off.”
“What?” Tracy immediately protested. “Absolutely not! I’m just warning you in advance. Wait until you meet the right person someday. Then I’ll show off my relationship in front of you every single day, so you can learn how to properly train a man.”
“The right person…” I murmured under my breath. Ethan’s cold, handsome face instantly appeared in my mind, but I quickly forced the image out.
A bitter wave of self-mockery rose inside me. After leaving him, there probably wouldn’t be another person in this world I could ever call the right one.
For werewolves, a fated mate was the greatest blessing the Moon Goddess could ever grant. But once that love was destroyed, the blessing became the cruelest curse, one that made it almost impossible to truly accept anyone else for the rest of your life.
That evening, I stayed at Jeremy’s villa. To keep myself from sinking deeper into my thoughts, I went into the kitchen and made a few dishes.
