Chapter 444:
“Shut up!” Ivy’s calm facade shattered instantly, her face warping with anger. She whirled around and struck Tracy hard across the face.
The crack of the slap reverberated through the deserted warehouse.
Seizing a handful of Tracy’s hair, Ivy jerked her head backward with brutal force, her expression twisted with hatred. “Who do you think you are? How dare you speak to me that way? Once I’m finished dealing with this bitch, you’ll be next! I’ll make you beg for death, and even then, you won’t get it!”
Despite the pain written across her face, Tracy refused to look away. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth as she sneered and spat directly at Ivy. Her voice was cold and cutting. “You’re afraid… You’re shaking because you know the truth. You’ll never have Ethan’s heart.”
“Fuck you!” Ivy completely lost control, swinging her cane recklessly as she struck Tracy again and again.

At the same time, my own situation had descended into complete hopelessness.
Three massive men had trapped me against the cold, unforgiving wall.
I curled inward, trying to preserve the last shred of my dignity, but faced with their overwhelming strength, my resistance was meaningless.
The sound of ripping fabric sliced through the warehouse.
My thin shirt was torn apart without mercy, and the freezing air struck my bruised skin, sending a chill deep into my bones.
“Stay away… Don’t touch me!” I screamed hoarsely, clawing desperately at empty air.
But the silver poison in my knee was spreading rapidly, leaving much of my body numb and unresponsive.
Blood continued to flow from the wound Ivy had left on my neck, the warm liquid sliding down my back. Against the shredded fabric hanging from my body, the crimson stains looked horrifying.
The humiliation of being stripped of my dignity and treated as nothing more than an object wounded me far more deeply than any physical injury.
“Curse it, this one’s got spirit!” Exasperated, one of the men drew a shiny silver dagger from his belt and swore under his breath.
The blade glimmered beneath the dim light, its edge gleaming with deadly intent.
He crouched before me and pressed the tip of the knife against my cheek. His eyes were dark and threatening. “Move again, and I’ll slice that pretty face to pieces,” he warned.
Despair crashed over me like an avalanche, dragging me into a darkness with no escape.
I slumped helplessly to the floor as the dagger crept closer. My eyes found Ruby’s tear-covered face, and I slowly closed them.
I thought bitterly, “Ethan… where are you?”
“Hurry up, guys! Miss Brooks, quit wasting time!” one of the men shouted over his shoulder toward Ivy.
Irritated by their failure to finish the job, Ivy stepped forward, preparing to berate them herself.
Then, without warning, a deafening explosion shattered the suffocating silence.
The warehouse’s rusted iron doors were blasted from their hinges, crashing onto the concrete floor with a thunderous boom that sent dust billowing through the air.
