Chapter 562:
Ethan crossed the room, lifted the blanket, and sat beside me. He wrapped an arm around my waist and drew me into his arms, his warm chest pressing against my back.
He placed his chin on my shoulder and brushed a series of gentle kisses along the side of my neck.
“Stop worrying so much,” he said softly. His deep voice was comforting as his hand traced lightly along my waist, making my body tingle.
I sighed, turned around, and slipped my arms around his neck. “Tracy has done so much for me over the years. I just don’t want to see her get hurt.”
I looked up and met his dark, steady gaze. “Do you really think Jeremy will treat her well? What if he gets bored someday? What if he ends up hurting her?”
“I can’t promise what will happen in the future,” he said truthfully. “But as long as I’m around, I won’t let him hurt Tracy. She’s your friend. If he crosses a line with her, he’ll have to answer to me.”
His words sent a comforting warmth through my heart. Then I teased him, “What if Jeremy and I end up getting in a fight one day? Would you really choose me over your best friend?”
It was such a cliché question people joked about all the time, yet Ethan answered immediately, “Yes.”
There wasn’t even a moment of hesitation. His eyes remained fixed on mine as he continued, “Lianne, nothing and no one matters more to me than you. Friends can come and go. I can always make new ones. But there’s only one you.”

I burst into laughter. “You’re completely hopeless,” I said with a grin. “What if people find out? Aren’t you worried about your image?”
Ethan chuckled softly. Then he lowered his head and kissed me. The kiss lingered, slow and affectionate. Then he pulled back slightly and spoke against my lips. His words made my heart race. “When you find the love of your life, other things don’t matter anymore.”
In the following days, Ethan and I visited every place in Gelidmark that we had wanted to see.
We sampled a lot of local food and took a photo together in front of a uniquely beautiful church with an exotic architectural style.
I knew our time here was coming to an end.
As the Alpha of Thorn Pack, Ethan had responsibilities far greater than his life.
While he recovered from his injuries, Noah had been handling everything on his behalf, and the workload had become almost impossible for him to manage.
I didn’t want Ethan abandoning his duties just to stay with me.
This journey had already exceeded every expectation I ever had.
Kneeling on the carpet, I carefully organized the souvenirs we had collected during the trip.
Though they were inexpensive trinkets, each one bore special memories. I wrapped them individually in protective foam before placing them neatly into different sections of my suitcase.
“Do you really like those that much?” Ethan’s voice came from the doorway.
