Chapter 906:
Ethan’s POV:
I took Noah’s car back toward the villa.
There was no way I could use my own vehicle. Lianne would recognize it immediately.

I pulled the black sedan over at the end of the street, switched off the engine, and stared through the windshield at the house I knew so well.
The lights inside the living room were still on, casting a soft golden glow through the windows. Tracy was probably still there with her.
My gaze remained fixed on the floor-to-ceiling glass. The distance made it impossible to see anything clearly inside, and a knot of regret tightened in my chest.
Once this was over, I was replacing those useless windows. I hated that I couldn’t see what was happening in there.
My phone suddenly began vibrating. Frank’s name appeared across the screen. A heavy feeling settled in my stomach. I hesitated for two seconds before answering.
“Ethan.” Frank’s voice was low, with anger barely restrained beneath the surface. “Did you and Lianne really break up?”
Ethan’s POV:
I clenched my phone in my hand, my expression hardening as my voice became distant. “This doesn’t concern you.”
Frank gave a mocking laugh. “Doesn’t concern me? You shattered Lianne’s heart, yet you still have the nerve to say this isn’t my affair? Ethan, you’ve turned her entire life upside down. Before you came along, she had a quiet, happy existence. She was perfectly fine without you!”
I said nothing.
Frank continued, “You’ve already chosen to release her, so I’m done standing aside. I’m going to pursue her. I’ve spent years waiting for the right opening, and now that I’ve finally got one, I won’t waste it.”
Despite the uneasiness tightening my chest, I was certain about one thing. Whatever Lianne had said in anger the last time we spoke, she hadn’t meant it. She would never choose Frank.
“She won’t accept you,” I replied flatly.
There was a brief silence on the other end. Then Frank chuckled. The sound was strangely relaxed, almost impossible to read, and that only made me more uneasy. “Ethan, there’s more to the breakup than you’re letting on, isn’t there? Honestly, I don’t care what happened between you two. All that matters to me is that you finally stepped out of the way.”
My grip shifted to the steering wheel, my knuckles growing taut.
Frank’s next words came slower, each one landing with brutal precision. “There’s something else I forgot to mention. Lianne is planning to leave the country. I’m going with her.”
For a moment, my mind went completely blank.
Every trace of composure disappeared. I ended the call without another word, shoved the car door open, and hurried inside.
The living room door struck the wall with a violent bang.
Both women turned toward me.
