Chapter 465:
But I didn’t care. I didn’t care if I spent the rest of my life crippled.
All I knew was that if I stayed here and did nothing, I would spend the rest of my life drowning in the regret of losing Ethan.
“You’ve completely lost your mind!” Frank stared at the blood streaming down my leg, his jaw tightening. For the first time, I saw a cold, ruthless edge flash through his eyes.
Without another word, he strode to a storage cabinet and yanked it open. After digging through its contents, he pulled out several restraint straps.
He forced me back onto the mattress and pinned me down, fastening my wrists and injured leg securely to the bed rails.
“No! Frank! Let go of me!” I shrieked.
Panic flooded through me as I struggled to get free, but my frail body was no match for an enraged Frank.

“You’re staying here until you’re healed. I won’t let you destroy yourself.” His voice shook despite the iron resolve in his eyes as he deliberately avoided looking at me. “Even if you hate me forever, I won’t let you go.”
“Let me go! What gives you the right to tie me up? Frank, you asshole!” I hissed.
I struggled with everything I had. The restraints dug cruelly into my skin, leaving angry red welts behind.
I screamed and sobbed until my voice gave out completely, until my tears blurred everything around me, leaving me powerless and limp across the bed.
Just when despair threatened to swallow me whole, and the last spark of hope was fading, the door opened quietly.
Tracy stepped inside. Beside her was a small figure.
Silas. My son. The quiet little boy who rarely spoke, yet possessed a sharpness and intelligence that often felt impossible for someone his age.
His backpack hung neatly from his shoulders. His face, so painfully similar to Ethan’s, remained calm and unreadable, but his dark eyes held a maturity far beyond his years.
The moment I saw him, every wall I had built around myself shattered.
“Silas…” My voice cracked as tears spilled freely down my cheeks.
Silas walked to my bedside.
He didn’t burst into tears like Tracy. He didn’t lecture me like Frank.
Instead, he simply reached out and wrapped his small hand around my fingers, bruised from struggling against the restraints.
He glanced toward Frank and Tracy by the doorway, making sure neither of them was paying attention, then leaned close to my ear.
His warm breath brushed against my skin, carrying a familiar scent that somehow soothed the chaos raging inside me.
“Mommy, don’t cry,” he whispered softly. “I found something.”
My heart skipped. I stared at him without blinking.
Silas pressed his lips together before lowering his voice even further. “I know where Daddy is.” A faint glimmer lit his eyes. “He’s in Thiynia.”
For a long moment, I could only stare at him in shock. My son was only three years old, yet his composure, intelligence, and calm judgment often felt almost unreal.
