Chapter 609:
I sat upright at once, lifted the pillow, and checked beneath it. I searched around the bed and even ran my hands along the folds of the sheets, but the phone was nowhere to be found.
“What are you searching for?”
A deep, husky voice cut through the air. Startled, my heart jumped, and I immediately stopped moving.
I turned around and met Ethan’s groggy eyes.
As he sat up, his silk robe slipped slightly from his shoulders, exposing part of his firm, well-defined chest.
“My… my phone is missing,” I said quickly, unable to conceal the anxiety in my voice.
A terrible thought had formed in my mind. What if Ethan had gone through my phone while I was asleep?
Ethan said nothing at first. He just looked at me with those dark, unfathomable eyes for a while. Then he got out of bed and walked toward the desk beside the window.

My eyes followed him. There, on the desk, was my phone. A charging cable was connected to it, and the battery indicator showed it was fully charged.
I stared blankly.
I had no memory of moving it there before going to sleep, much less plugging it in.
It could only be Ethan.
After he had come out of the shower last night, he didn’t pick a fight with me. He had even helped me charge my phone.
I watched his retreating figure, feeling a mix of emotions.
The tension from last night seemed almost unreal now, like a nightmare, but a cold silence hung in the air.
I had thought Ethan would still be angry because of Frank’s voice message. I expected him to ignore me, keep his distance, or even throw out another sarcastic remark like he had yesterday.
To my surprise, by the time I showered and dressed up, he was already prepared and waiting for me without a hint of impatience.
He wore a perfectly fitted black suit. The top button of his shirt was neatly fastened, giving him an air of composure and authority.
Standing by the hospital room door, Ethan casually held a car key in one hand while his gaze settled on me.
“Let’s go,” he said. His voice was calm, revealing nothing of what he was thinking.
“Where to?” I asked.
“We promised Ruby and Silas that we’d take them to the amusement park.”
As soon as he said that, he turned and pushed the door open.
I looked at his broad back, drew in a slow breath, and hurried after him.
The final three days we had together had begun.
Lianne’s POV
Golden sunlight washed over the lively amusement park, glinting off the slightly tousled strands of Ethan’s messy hair.
He crouched down without the slightest impatience, carefully fastening Ruby’s untied shoelaces.
If not for the occasional intimidating gleam in his beautiful eyes, Ethan could have easily passed for an ordinary, impossibly handsome young father.
That quiet tenderness felt entirely inconsistent with the image of the decisive, merciless Alpha who ruled Thorn Pack.
