Chapter 326:
Lianne’s POV:
Oscar had joined the team later than the others. He rarely spoke, but he was someone people could always depend on.
After we grabbed a quick meal near the hotel, Bella suddenly pressed a hand against her abdomen and muttered that she wasn’t feeling well. She said she wanted to head to the room and lie down for a while.
So, I brought Oscar along to finish checking into the hotel.
While I was in the lobby, my attention stayed fixed on my phone as I searched for Bella’s number, planning to message her and ask how she was doing.

Then, from the edge of my vision, I caught sight of a tall figure moving past the elevator area.
My pulse jolted violently, and my hand stopped moving over the screen.
I blinked hard and rubbed at my eyes out of reflex, yet when I looked again, only a handful of tourists hurried by.
Still, that silhouette and the overpowering aura surrounding the figure felt unmistakably like Ethan.
But that made no sense.
The Queen District was far outside the territory he controlled.
I instinctively tried to catch traces of that familiar Alpha scent, but it disappeared almost immediately, fading like mist scattered by the wind.
A quiet laugh escaped my lips, filled with mockery toward myself. I really had lost it, imagining things like this again.
“Ms. Riley?” Oscar’s voice pulled me back when he noticed me standing there absentmindedly.
I quickly composed myself. “Did Bella reply to you?”
“She texted me a moment ago. She still feels pretty sick and will come downstairs soon. She said she wants to buy some medicine.”
Concern tightened in my chest. “Could her condition be serious? If the pain’s too strong, we shouldn’t waste time anymore. We need to take her to the hospital.”
Oscar simply gave a small nod without adding anything else.
Every now and then, his eyes drifted toward me, restrained but intentional.
I wasn’t exactly sharp when it came to affection, but I knew my appearance well enough. I wasn’t breathtakingly beautiful, yet I had gentle features that often attracted more attention than glamorous looks ever could.
Oscar might have been younger than me and technically worked under me, but there were moments when he’d lose focus entirely after meeting my gaze.
A short while later, Bella stepped out of the elevator looking ghostly pale, one hand pressing tightly against her stomach.
I hurried over and held her steady. “Is it that bad?”
“Ms. Riley… I think I ate something bad. My stomach hurts so much.” She leaned heavily against me, beads of sweat coating her forehead.
I immediately made up my mind. “Forget today’s schedule. We’re going to the hospital right now.”
The instant I said it, Oscar strode over without hesitation and lifted Bella into his arms.
“It’ll be difficult for the two of you to go alone. I’ll come along and deal with registration and everything else.” His voice carried calm certainty.
I didn’t argue and agreed at once, “Okay. The car’s outside. Let’s go.”
My thoughts stayed centered on Bella the entire time, yet the image of the man who resembled Ethan remained lodged deep inside me like a splinter, impossible to ignore no matter how hard I tried.
