Chapter 111:
He walked over, opened the paper bag himself, slid the straw into the still-warm drink, and held it out to me. “Drink some. You’ve been busy all morning, and you don’t look well.”
He looked at me, concern in his voice edged with condescension. “Are you refusing it because of Ivy? Is that why you won’t drink the bubble tea she bought you? She’s not as bad as you think. She only wants to smooth things over between you.”
Lianne’s POV
I looked at the drink in silence as its strong scent drifted up toward me. It had once been my favorite, but now it only turned my stomach.
“You think Ivy is trying to smooth things over between us?” I lifted my eyes and looked Ethan straight in the face.
“What else would it be?” he said, a faint frown of impatience settling between his brows. “Lianne, stop assuming the worst of her all the time. Didn’t you used to drink this bubble tea every single day? Since Ivy went out of her way to bring it to you herself, that means she’s trying to make peace with you. Why do you keep making things difficult for her?”
So to him, everything Ivy did was justified, and my refusal to take her drink somehow became me making life hard for her.
I let out a small laugh, drew in a breath, and suddenly reached for the cup.

Right in front of Ethan’s stunned eyes, I turned and flung the whole cup into the trash can nearby.
It hit the bottom with a sharp crash, the plastic cup breaking apart as brown drink splashed everywhere.
“What are you doing?” Ethan barked, his face instantly darkening.
“People’s tastes change. I used to like this drink, but now, sorry, I don’t.” I looked at him, my voice cold and stripped of any warmth. “And whether it’s the drink, the person who brought it, or even you, I hate all of it.”
He stood frozen, speechless, like he had never seen me this detached before.
“Don’t bring me this kind of thing again.” I brushed past him and headed toward the stage. “Because now, even the smell makes me want to throw up.”
I didn’t look back to see what expression he wore, but I could already imagine it.
After all, in the three years I had spent by his side, I had always yielded and never once truly lost my temper.
Maybe that was exactly why he thought I would do whatever he said.
But now, I didn’t want to keep indulging him anymore.
Whatever I felt for him ended right then, along with that cup of tea. And I had no desire to pick it back up.
That afternoon, the Sparkle livestream had already pulled in a huge audience before the launch event even officially started, and the viewer count was still climbing fast.
I stood backstage watching the numbers on the screen keep rising, my fingertips turning slightly cold from nerves.
