Chapter 122

Chapter 122:
Right on schedule at six-thirty, he got up for his usual training, a routine he never skipped as an Alpha.
Only after he had been gone for a while did I slowly open my eyes.
My gaze settled on the empty spot beside me that still carried his lingering warmth, and I let out a quiet, self-directed smile.
“Ethan, don’t you ever get tired of keeping this up?”
Not long after breakfast, my phone lit up with a notification. Bella had pulled me into a group chat called “Hot Spring Resort.”
“Ladies, the Alpha is going all out this time! He’s covering everything himself for a two-day retreat outside the city!” Bella flooded the chat with messages, followed by a wave of thank-you stickers.
Watching the screen fill with excitement, I casually tapped a smiling emoji in response.
There was no reason for me to sit out an event organized by the company.

As I idly scrolled through social media, one post suddenly caught my attention and stopped me cold.
It was Ivy’s update, posted at three in the morning, with a simple caption. “Thanks for staying with me.”
Under the soft, shadowed lighting, the image showed a man’s and a woman’s hands tightly intertwined, the man’s fingers long and refined.
There was no doubt in my mind. That hand belonged to Ethan, and I would never confuse it with anyone else’s.
So at three in the morning, after walking out of our bedroom, he had gone straight to her.
It didn’t take much to realize this post was meant for my eyes alone.
Without saying a word, she was throwing down a challenge, making a mockery of my broken marriage while showing off how easily she could have him by her side before dawn.
For a long while, I kept staring at the picture, and a bitter smile slowly formed on my lips.
If this had happened before, I would’ve taken a screenshot and sent it to Ethan, demanding answers for his lies.
Now, I couldn’t even bring myself to open our chat.
I had already tried that before.
More than once, I told him Ivy was targeting me behind my back and that she wasn’t as harmless as she pretended to be.
Every time, he would look at me with clear disappointment and answer coldly, “Lianne, Ivy is a good person. She’s even spoken up for you. Why do you keep assuming the worst about others?”
To him, Ivy was always the innocent one, while I was nothing more than a calculating and malicious wife.
If I said anything else, I would only end up making a fool of myself.
By the next morning, a luxurious bus was already waiting outside the company building.
Colleagues boarded one after another, dragging their suitcases along as they chatted excitedly about the open-air hot springs.
Choosing the back row, I picked a window seat on purpose and slipped on my headphones to block everything out.
“Lianne, is anyone sitting here?”
Lifting my head, I saw Gavin Harvey, the marketing director, standing beside me.
