Chapter 135:
“I’m here with you. You don’t need to worry,” he said softly, his voice calm and reassuring.
I nodded in thanks, drew a steady breath, and went with Frank to greet them.
“Ethan, you’re here.” I forced myself to remain composed, not letting a hint of my emotions show.
Ethan gave a faint nod, but when his gaze shifted from me to Frank’s hand on my shoulder, his eyes grew darker.
“How long have you been here?” he asked.

“Not long,” I answered briefly.
Just then, Mason walked over and warmly introduced Ethan. “This is Frank Mill, the male lead in our current commercial.”
Ethan only gave him a cold nod.
“Now that you’re here, why don’t you join us for lunch?” Mason proposed. “It’ll be a good chance to go over the details of the upcoming shoot.”
We went to a private room in a high-end restaurant nearby.
After we sat down, Frank casually picked up the menu, expertly chose a few dishes, then looked at me with a gentle expression. “Lianne, I remember you like beef, and the desserts here are pretty good. Want me to order for you?”
I hesitated for a moment, then smiled and nodded. “Okay, thanks.”
Watching the two of us, Mason laughed and teased, “Wow, Frank, you really know what Lianne likes. How do you two know each other?”
Frank set down the menu and looked at me with unwavering eyes. “We grew up together. Back in school, I had a crush on Lianne. Unfortunately, we lost contact for some reason, but now that we’ve met again, I don’t want to miss this chance a second time.”
In an instant, I felt a gaze on me that was both searing and cold.
I looked up instinctively and met Ethan’s dark, oppressive stare.
But Mason, completely unaware of the tension around us, kept laughing. “So that’s the story! Then Frank, you’d better make your move. When the two of you get together, don’t forget to treat me to dinner!”
Ethan’s POV
The instant Frank admitted he had feelings for Lianne, my wolf, Arthur, roared in fury.
I wanted to overturn the table on the spot, rip this ungrateful bastard apart with my Alpha strength, and make him pay for daring to desire the Luna of the Thorn Pack.
But I couldn’t.
I drew a deep breath and forced that savage impulse back down.
When Frank went on to say they were only friends, it sounded unbearably false to me.
I looked at Lianne without thinking, waiting for her to say something; even a cold denial would have been enough.
But she only lowered her head, her long lashes concealing whatever was in her eyes, and said nothing at all in explanation.
To me, that silence was as good as admitting it.
The fire in my chest blazed even hotter.
