Chapter 193:
What they failed to remember was that before losing my wolf, I had held the title of combat champion at the Pack Academy for three years straight.
The instant they lunged, I pivoted aside, catching one woman’s wrist with precision and wrenching it sharply.
“Ah!”
A sharp cry ripped through the air.
I drove my knee forward, slamming it hard into the other woman’s abdomen. Every movement I made was swift and precise, not a single motion wasted.
In mere moments, all three of them were sprawled across the floor, clutching their wrists and stomachs, groaning in pain.
I stood over them, my gaze cold, carrying a ruthless edge I had never shown before.
“Go on. Try me.” I spoke slowly, each word falling with chilling clarity. “Let’s find out if I have the authority to get you all dismissed today.”
Perhaps it was the killing intent in my eyes, something even I hadn’t felt in years, that sent them scrambling. They stumbled out of the restroom in a panic, not daring to glance back.

Quiet settled over the space once more.
I let my guard fall, bracing myself against the cold sink as my strength drained away. The woman staring back at me in the mirror had reddened eyes, yet her expression was fiercely resolute.
I swept the loose strands of hair from my forehead, my gaze dropping to the faint marks on my fingertips.
From this moment on, I would not allow anyone to trample over me again.
Even without Ethan shielding me, even without my wolf, I was still the same unmatched Lianne.
I could stand on my own. I could even shine brighter than anyone else.
In the following days at the office, I began steering clear of Ethan as though he carried a contagion.
I had no desire to hear more whispers about him and Ivy, nor did I want to become the subject of idle stares.
Yet he behaved as if none of it had ever happened, still having Noah pass along instructions for me to report to his office.
Left with no real choice, I finally pushed open the door to the CEO’s office.
As I watched him bent over his paperwork, a sudden, reckless thought gripped me.
I wanted to ask him, even if the chance was one in a million, whether there was any possibility of making our relationship public.
I had believed I’d already let him go, yet a stubborn piece of me still refused to release its hold.
Before I could speak, Ethan lifted his head first.
“I’ve reviewed the public reaction online.” He set his pen aside, fingers lacing together. “There was a time I considered revealing our relationship, to bring it to a proper close.”
My heart lurched, my fingertips trembling ever so slightly.
“But if we go public, every accusation would be directed at Ivy,” he continued. “She’d be branded a home-wrecker, and her standing in the entertainment industry would be destroyed. The current climate of public opinion is far too volatile; once it spirals, I wouldn’t be able to shield her.”
