Chapter 210:
Every part of me felt tense, but in that moment, I had no choice except to play along.
“Lianne, isn’t that right?” he murmured against my ear, his hold tightening just a little.
I met Harold’s hopeful gaze, but my throat closed so tightly that no words would come.
If I exposed the truth now, he might collapse all over again on the spot.
I shut my eyes, balled my hands into tight fists, and in the end, gave a reluctant nod.
“That’s good…” Harold let out a slow breath. “Since it’s only a misunderstanding, then the ceremony should be arranged as soon as possible. I’m going to announce it properly, in front of everyone, that Lianne is the sole Luna of the Thorn Pack. Ethan, once I’m feeling a little stronger, start preparing everything. Your grandmother and I will be there.”

“Of course,” Ethan answered without resistance.
The moment we stepped out of the hospital room, I moved unsteadily down the silent corridor with Ethan beside me.
“Not break the bond?” My voice shook with fury. “Ethan, are you insane? You know perfectly well that we already—”
Before I could finish, Ethan grabbed my wrist and shoved me back against a freezing stone pillar.
He bent toward me, his beautiful yet frigid face only inches away from mine.
“Lianne, you’re really unbelievable.” A mocking edge curled through his voice. “You knew my grandfather’s condition was fragile, you knew he couldn’t take any shock, and you still picked this moment to pull something like this. I already explained what’s going on between Ivy and me. Why are you still pushing it?”
I stared at him, too stunned to process it. “You think… I planned this? You think I’m using your grandfather’s life to force your hand?”
“Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing?” His grip cinched tighter, pain flaring through my wrist until I sucked in a sharp breath. “Lianne, how did I never realize you were this good at pretending?”
Ethan looked truly enraged, and the harsher he grew, the less care he put into his words.
I looked at him, the man I had loved for so many years.
He wouldn’t even spare me the chance to explain. He had already condemned me without listening.
“You’re right.” A laugh suddenly broke from me as tears streamed down my face. “I did all of it. I upset your grandfather on purpose. I put on this whole performance on purpose. I just wanted to remain by your side no matter what, to keep clinging to the title of Luna. Are you happy now?”
Ethan’s pupils contracted abruptly. He clearly hadn’t expected me to admit it so easily.
He lifted a hand, as if he meant to wipe away the tears on my face.
“Don’t touch me!” I flung his hand away with force, as though his touch itself disgusted me.
“So if you despise me that much, if you truly believe I’m that cruel, then break the bond!” I shouted the words at him. “Go to Ivy. Be with her. Why keep me here at all?”
