Chapter 217:
My heart lurched, and with unsteady fingers, I tapped on the official video posted by the financial news channel.
In the video, Ethan appeared in a flawlessly tailored black suit, seated on a leather couch inside the studio.
He sat there with one leg crossed over the other, carrying that effortless air of authority and privilege that always seemed to belong to him.
For the first twenty minutes of the interview, he spoke about market trends, corporate management, and the future strategic direction of Voss Group.

His tone was calm and professional, his reasoning precise, and every glance he gave carried the weight of command.
As the interview neared its close, the host adjusted his glasses and carefully asked, “Alpha, there’s been considerable online discussion lately involving you, Lianne Riley, and Ivy Brooks. Would you like to respond?”
On the screen, Ethan lowered his coffee cup, and his gaze sharpened at once.
“I don’t appreciate people prying excessively into my private affairs.” He looked into the camera, his voice low and unwavering, carrying a pressure that was impossible to ignore. “I chose not to respond earlier because I saw no reason to encourage public speculation. But now that someone has maliciously exposed my mate’s personal information and subjected her to severe online harassment, I will pursue this matter to the end, whatever it takes.”
The host looked visibly stunned, clearly unprepared for him to use the word “mate.”
Ethan paused for a beat, then addressed the camera with deliberate clarity. “So let me make this absolutely clear to everyone. Lianne is my fated mate, and the one and only rightful Luna of the Thorn Pack.”
Lianne’s POV
Within twenty-four hours of Ethan’s interview going live, the tide of public opinion across the entire city shifted completely.
The same people who had been cursing me online and branding me a home-wrecker abruptly reversed themselves.
The comment section overflowed with lines like, “We’re sorry, we misunderstood Lianne,” “So this was the real story,” and “Lianne really deserved better.”
I watched the comments stream endlessly across the screen, yet inside me, there was only emptiness.
For the next several days, Ethan never came home.
I continued commuting to and from work as usual, finishing the last phase of the Sparkle project.
The moment I walked into the office building, I could clearly sense how differently people were looking at me now.
The coworkers who had once kept their distance now greeted me politely whenever they saw me.
Lily, who had called me a shameless seductress before, stopped me in the break room, her face red with embarrassment, and after lingering in hesitation for a while, she finally said with complete sincerity, “Lianne, I’m sorry… I believed those rumors before, and I said so many awful things to you. Please forgive me.”
I looked at her and answered evenly, “It’s alright. Let’s just focus on work.”
Later that evening, I returned home drained to the bone.
The moment I pushed open the front door, I stopped in place.
A familiar black cashmere coat was hanging on the rack near the entrance.
