Chapter 248:
“Put me down!” I fought him with all my strength, my voice torn and hoarse from all the screaming the night before, breaking the moment it came out.
He paid no attention to my struggle and carried me straight back to the bed. Once he set me down, he picked up a bowl of warm oatmeal, lifted a spoonful, and held it at my lips. “Eat.”
I pressed my lips together and stared at him with cold, unflinching eyes.
If he believed I had betrayed him, if he had decided the child in my womb was not his, then we could both sit here and starve.
“Lianne, do not test me.” His eyes turned sharp, cold and absolute, and the next second, he bent down and crushed his mouth against mine.
It was not a kiss, it was a warning, harsh and exact.

The faint sweetness of the oatmeal still on my tongue mixed with the freezing presence of him, and a violent wave of sickness rose inside me, stronger than anything I had ever felt.
Gathering every bit of strength I could, I shoved him away. With a loud clang, the bowl of oatmeal crashed to the floor, its thick contents splashing across his costly shirt and ruining it completely.
I tensed, waiting for him to explode, expecting his hand to close around my throat in fury.
But he did not. He only stood there, looking down at the mess in silence, then opened another container of oatmeal. His voice stayed unnervingly flat. “Go ahead and knock over as many as you want. I have nothing but time. But if you will not eat, I will have every servant in this villa driven out of the Thorn Pack.”
I clenched my teeth and gripped the blanket tightly, then finally gave in.
With my head lowered, I let him feed me bite by bite, like a doll with its strings in his hands. Each bite sent fresh stabs of pain through the wounds in my mouth. Tears threatened to fall, but I forced them back with fierce determination.
When he returned after changing his clothes, he reached out to touch my swollen lips. I slapped his hand away without hesitation.
“Ethan, why are you still pretending to care?” I asked, my bitter smile hollow and empty. “The child is already a bastard in your eyes. Why waste your time on someone you consider so impure?”
His face flushed crimson, veins pulsing visibly at his temples. Without a word, he stormed out, leaving silence in his wake.
At noon, Noah appeared with a container of food.
“Lianne, the Alpha sent me with your lunch.” Noah shifted slightly, a trace of unease in his stance.
“Noah, wait.” I blocked his path before he could step away, locking eyes with him. “How did Ethan get hold of my medical report?”
Noah hesitated, then murmured, “Someone sent it to Voss Group anonymously. Once the Alpha saw it, he went straight to the club.”
Sent to the headquarters?
