Chapter 337:
Pain tore through me instantly. The metallic taste of blood spread through the air, snapping me back from my daze.
This wasn’t another dream. Lianne was truly here, in my arms.
I stopped moving and looked down at her delicate face. Desire clouded her eyes, but beneath it lay something painfully fragile. A satisfied laugh escaped my throat, low and almost unsteady.
“Bite harder,” I muttered. My fingers tightened around her waist until my knuckles turned pale. “Prove to me this isn’t just another dream I’ve been having for three years.”
The sting in my shoulder grounded me completely. Her warmth against me was real. After years of obsession and longing, this moment finally existed outside my imagination.
I lowered my head and kissed the tears from the corners of her eyes. Then I pressed my lips near her ear and spoke in a ragged whisper.
“Lianne… I’ve waited far too long for this…”
Lianne’s POV
When I woke up in the spacious, unfamiliar hotel bed, it was already nearing noon.

The moment awareness returned, a brutal hangover crashed over me, accompanied by aches that seemed to seep into every inch of my body. My temples throbbed with every heartbeat. Even breathing tugged painfully at my sore muscles, drawing a wince from my lips.
I tried to push myself upright, but my trembling arms nearly gave out beneath me.
Disjointed memories flickered through my mind: Ethan’s face, the heat of his breath against my skin, the suffocating intensity of his possessiveness. A bitter smile tugged at my lips as I shut my eyes.
Over the last three years, he had appeared in my dreams more than once, but never like this. This dream had felt disturbingly real, so real that I could almost still feel the lingering heat of his touch.
It took a while before I managed to steady myself enough to look around, only to realize the room was completely unfamiliar. The lavish furnishings and expansive suite looked nothing like the cheap hotel room I had booked.
My stomach dropped instantly, panic flooding my chest.
Glancing down, I discovered that my usual work clothes had vanished, replaced instead by an elegant silk nightdress I had never seen before. My fingers tightened around the blanket instinctively as my breathing turned uneven.
What had actually happened last night?
Just then, a knock at the door shattered the silence. Startled, I hurriedly clutched my clothes closer and stumbled toward the entrance.
Outside stood a courteous hotel employee with a dining cart, politely asking whether I would like breakfast brought in.
“W-where am I? How did I get here?” I asked, gripping the doorframe as nervousness crept into my trembling voice.
The staff member smiled warmly. “This is the presidential suite in Queen District. A gentleman brought you here last night and said he was your friend.”
My heart lurched. Before I could press for more information, she continued, “He also asked me to tell you that he’s the driver you met in Brinewick.”
