Chapter 378:
Jeremy, standing off to the side, was barely holding back his laughter. His face flushed red before he finally burst out laughing. “Ethan, you see that? That’s your kid’s talent right there! That sharp tongue, no doubt about it, he’s yours.”
I ignored Jeremy’s teasing and fixed my gaze on Silas.
I searched his face for even the smallest hint of Lianne, but he looked far too much like me. The unmistakable presence of a top-tier Alpha was already beginning to emerge in him, even though he was still just a young pup.
“Did your mother ever mention that I’m your father?” I lowered myself into a crouch, striving to keep my voice as even as I could.
Silas pressed his lips together, his eyes flickering with contempt. “No. She just told me my dad died a long time ago.”
My chest constricted. That wave of fury and frustration, the feeling of being wiped out of existence by Lianne, as if I had never been there at all, came flooding back.
“What’s your mother’s name?” I locked my eyes on him, my mind shouting Lianne’s name.

If Silas had said Lianne’s name, I would have done anything necessary, even if it meant mobilizing every resource under my command, to bring her back and keep her beside me forever.
But Silas just frowned impatiently, giving me a look as if I were missing the obvious. “That’s beside the point,” he said.
“Are you taking me home or not?” he asked bluntly. “I want to see where you live.”
The moment he said it, a crafty gleam flashed through his eyes.
I immediately saw through him. This little brat was definitely plotting something. Maybe he planned to hack my computer system. Maybe he wanted to stir up trouble inside the house.
But I didn’t care.
As long as Silas was willing to stay near me, I would eventually find a way to track down the woman hiding from me.
“Fine,” I said as I stood up. “I’ll take you home.” Then I glanced toward Jeremy. “Make a dinner reservation first. The kid’s probably hungry.”
At the restaurant, I ordered nearly every signature dish on the menu.
I had absolutely no idea what children his age liked to eat, so I simply bought everything.
Silas showed no restraint whatsoever. He sat there happily digging into the food with his fork, eating with obvious enjoyment while his sharp little eyes constantly darted around the room restlessly.
Jeremy leaned closer to me and lowered his voice conspiratorially. “Ethan, this kid’s terrifyingly talented with technology. Earlier in the lobby, he hacked into our visitor system within minutes.”
I glanced at Silas, who was currently chewing on a piece of meat with complete satisfaction, and let out a cold snort. “I’m almost certain the Voss Group system crash this morning was his doing.”
Jeremy froze for a second before bursting into laughter. “That’s insane!” he exclaimed. “A three-year-old hacking the Voss Group’s defenses? If we train him properly, this kid will become a serious powerhouse in the future.”
He suddenly grinned mischievously. “How about this, you let me raise him instead? I’ll personally train him for you.”
