Chapter 423:
Ethan turned back slowly. There was no anger in his expression, but there was something far more frightening. A cold obsession that sent chills through my entire body.
He wiped his cheek and then said calmly, “You’re right. I lost my mind the day you left three years ago.”
I didn’t want to stay entangled with this lunatic for another second. Hugging my bag tightly, I turned around to leave.
But then his icy voice stopped me from behind. “I’ll find out your secrets soon enough.”
I immediately halted, frozen to the spot.
Then I turned around and glared at him. “What do you know?”

Silas was still with him. My son was my everything.
If Ethan had truly discovered Silas’s identity, then, given his power and status, there was no way he would ever let me have my son back. I would never lay my eyes on him again.
The corners of Ethan’s lips lifted slowly as he took in the panic on my face.
He casually straightened the wrinkled collar of his suit, which had been messed up during our struggle. He deliberately dragged out every word. “You want answers? That depends on whether I’m in a good mood or not.”
I swallowed the rage rising in me. My fingernails dug painfully into my palms as I said through clenched teeth, “What do you want me to do, then?”
Ethan moved closer. His tall figure completely overshadowed me as he bent and slowly whispered in my ear, “Come home with me.”
My hands tightened into fists. I stared at the confident expression on his face, hating every second of it. Every instinct inside me wanted to refuse, but I knew I had no room to negotiate.
As if he sensed my resistance, his dark, unhinged demeanor suddenly disappeared.
He lowered his gaze slightly and said in a soft tone, “All I want is to have dinner with you. That’s it. Silas is waiting for us.”
After a brief pause, he added, “Once dinner is over, I’ll take you back myself. I promise.”
I gripped my bag strap so hard that my fingers turned pale.
Silas was still in his hands. I had no choice but to give in.
“Fine.” I forced out my reply through gritted teeth.
I turned around and walked across the street toward Frank’s car.
Frank sat behind the wheel with a dark expression on his face. The moment he saw me approaching, he rolled the window down immediately. “Lianne, don’t listen to him,” he said anxiously. “Get in the car. I’ll take you away from here right now.”
“Frank, listen to me.” I reached out and held his hand, trying my best to remain calm. “I have to go with him. Some work still needs to be done.”
“You want to leave with him?” Frank’s voice rose with anger. “Come on! Did what happened just now look normal to you?”
The veins on his forehead stood out as he shoved the car door open, clearly intending to go after Ethan. “He’s humiliating you, Lianne! There’s no way I’m letting him take you away like this!”
“Don’t!” I grabbed onto him tightly in desperation. “Frank, please. He’s an Alpha and the CEO of Voss Group. Fighting him here won’t help anything. It’ll only make the situation worse. Just head home, okay? Trust me. I know how to deal with this.”
Frank stared at me silently. His eyes were filled with helpless anger and deep concern.
After a moment, he muttered, “Lianne, don’t forget the secret you’ve protected all this time. If Ethan finds out about Silas and Ruby, have you thought about what he’ll do? Don’t risk everything hoping he’ll choose you because of your past together. Once an Alpha like him becomes possessive, he’ll ruin you completely.”
