Chapter 449:
Ivy’s grip on the dagger had never loosened. If anything, her warped excitement had made her clutch it even harder, her hand trembling slightly from the force.
And she wasn’t looking at Ethan’s face anymore. Her eyes were fixed on his heart.
The truth hit me hard. She never meant to let go of me.
After securing Ethan’s promise, she planned to drag both of us into hell with her.
“No! Ethan, move!” Gathering the last bit of strength left inside me, I forced every remaining breath from my lungs and screamed.
But it was too late.
The moment Ethan reached out to catch me, a silver flash cut through the air.
Ivy shoved me away and thrust the silver dagger toward Ethan’s chest.

I let out a terrified shriek. “No!”
Horror consumed me as I saw the madness in Ivy’s bloodshot eyes. Her fingers wrapped tightly around the dagger’s handle with savage determination. Using every ounce of strength she had, she drove the silver blade deep into Ethan’s chest.
A muffled groan escaped Ethan’s lips. His tall, imposing body trembled violently.
Blood quickly soaked through his shirt.
“Ethan, we’ll die together!” Throwing her head back, Ivy burst into a shrill, hysterical laugh.
At that moment, the beautiful face she once had twisted into something horrifying.
She hissed, “If we can’t live together, then we’ll die together! We’ll be bound forever, and no one will ever separate us!”
“Ethan…” I reached toward him, desperately trying to stop the blood flowing from his chest while pushing Ivy away.
But my body had reached its breaking point.
The silver poison raged through my veins, draining away the last of my strength.
My fingertips barely brushed the edge of his jacket before my hand fell limp.
My vision gradually faded, and the world around me melted into a haze of distorted colors.
Just before I completely lost consciousness, I heard his hoarse and weakened voice. Despite how faint it was, it still carried the authority I knew so well. “Don’t worry about me… Save her first… Get Lianne out of here…”
Using the last of his strength, he pushed me into the waiting arms of the guards rushing toward us.
Then everything faded into darkness.
It felt like I was sinking beneath endless waters, slowly drowning with no way back.
I felt like I was freezing and suffocating.
I saw my father standing at the edge of the shore, his lone figure filled with sorrow. I saw Tracy waving at me through her tears. I saw Frank carrying Ruby while standing beside Silas. Their forms gradually disappeared into the fog.
“Don’t go… Please don’t leave me…” I desperately stretched out my hand, trying to catch them, trying to call after them. But my throat felt as though it had been filled with scorching sand. I couldn’t make a sound.
One by one, those images shattered like glass, leaving only a void of silence.
“Urgh!” A violent wave of nausea dragged me back to reality.
My eyes flew open, and I instinctively turned toward the trash can beside the bed and retched.
