Chapter 452:
I lay sprawled on the floor, gasping desperately while blood dripped from my body.
“Lianne!” Frank cried out in panic. For the first time, he lost control. His voice shook with both fury and frustration. “Can you think about yourself for once? He’s the Alpha of the Thorn Pack! He has countless warriors protecting him and the resources of an entire pack behind him. He’ll survive! But what about you? Besides me and those two children, who do you have? Why are you treating your own life like it means nothing?”
“Because he saved me…” I whispered as I dragged myself forward across the cold floor inch by inch. “Frank, Ethan went down on his knees for me. He was willing to sacrifice his life for mine. If I can’t even know whether he’s safe… then I’ve got no reason to keep going.”
“The elders won’t allow you anywhere near him!” Frank stepped in front of me and blocked my path. “To them, you’re the cursed woman who brought disaster upon their Alpha. If you show up now, they’ll tear you apart!”

The moment I heard that I would never be able to see him again, the last thread of reason inside me snapped. Despair consumed me completely, and I lost my mind.
I slowly lifted my head. Blood covered my face as I looked at Frank with a terrifying resolve.
“If I can’t see him… then I’ll die here.”
The moment the words left my mouth, I slammed my forehead against the concrete floor.
The dull thud echoed throughout the silent room.
“What are you doing? Lianne, have you gone crazy?” Frank shouted as he rushed toward me.
I pushed him away. My forehead had already split open. Blood flowed down my nose and blurred my vision.
Ignoring the pain completely, I raised my head again to smash it against the floor one more time.
“Let me go… Please take me to him…” My voice broke between sobs, every word filled with desperation. “I don’t fear pain. I don’t fear dying. The only thing I fear is arriving one second too late and never hearing his heartbeat again.”
Tears streamed endlessly down my face, blending with the blood and leaving dark stains across the floor.
I must have looked terrible. Like a madwoman. Like someone stripped of all rationality.
But nothing mattered anymore.
The moment the silver dagger pierced Ethan’s heart, my reason and dignity seemed to disappear along with him.
Seeing how determined I was, so desperate that I was willing to destroy myself, Frank finally broke.
All the restraint he had been holding onto vanished. His arms dropped weakly to his sides. His eyes were red, and his voice carried nothing but exhaustion and surrender. “Fine… I’ll help you. I’ll find a way to get you to him.”
He shut his eyes, unable to continue looking at my blood-covered body. “But you have to agree to one condition. If the witches tell us he can’t be saved, or if the elders decide they want your life, then you must leave with me.”
“Okay…” I whispered through my tears. “I promise.”
