Chapter 500:
“What are you doing?!” I jerked back as if I had touched fire, trying to snatch my hand away, but he refused to let go.
“If I don’t move around, I’ll lose these abs,” he muttered mischievously. Then he leaned closer and whispered seductively, “As far as I remember, someone was very fond of them. Wasn’t she?”
My cheeks flushed and heat ran through my entire body.
Embarrassed and annoyed, I shot him a glare and forced out a response. “Who said I like them? Stop being so full of yourself!”
In my desperation to cover up my flustered state, I blurted out the first excuse that came to mind, only to regret it immediately. “Last night, it was only because I was on top of you and didn’t know where to put my hands. That’s the only reason I touched your abs! Don’t get the wrong idea!”
The instant I said this, the air froze.
Ethan’s expression changed at once.

The teasing smirk faded. An intense look filled his eyes, a hunger so deep and raw it looked like it was coming to devour me whole.
“Oh?” he chuckled softly, sending a shiver racing down my spine. “So it was because you didn’t know where to put your hands…”
Before I could say anything, he stepped forward. One arm came up against the wall beside me, trapping me in the narrow space between him and the wall.
I couldn’t move. His cool, woody scent, with a faint trace of cedar, filled my nose. The scent was pleasant.
“Lianne,” he murmured, his breath brushing lightly against my face. He sounded husky and tender. “Do you have any idea how irresistible you are when you act tough?” His eyes never left mine. “I want you now.”
I could feel it. The heat pressed against me. The most primal, raw response of a grown man. Instantly, panic surged through me.
“Ethan! It’s broad daylight!” I whispered sharply, planting both hands against his chest. I hardly dared use any force, terrified of hitting his wound. “Melisa could come in at any moment to change your bandages. Have you completely lost your mind?”
“Then close the curtains.” He didn’t look like he would back down. The obsession burning in his eyes was unwavering.
He lowered his head, his warm breath brushing lightly against my ear.
Suddenly, he seemed to notice something. After a brief pause, he said in a hushed tone, “There’s… a mole here.”
It was a tiny mole behind my earlobe, so small that even I often forgot about it.
A rush of warmth swept through me. A tingling sensation spread across my skin as I felt the soft touch of his lips on that sensitive spot.
I moaned and my body shook uncontrollably. I instinctively tried to move away, but he gripped my waist tightly, keeping me firmly in place.
Then his lips met mine.
Unlike the cautious, tender kiss we had shared the night before, this one was fierce, domineering, and utterly consuming.
