Chapter 511:
“Uh… Ethan, don’t misunderstand!” Tracy nearly dropped the apple in her panic. “Frank’s feelings are completely one-sided, that’s all! Really! Lianne has only ever cared about you!”
Watching Tracy scramble to explain herself was both amusing and helplessly embarrassing.
Ethan, however, showed no signs of anger. He simply accepted the glass of warm water I handed him. His calm composure somehow made the atmosphere even more oppressive.
“I know.” His voice was cool and indifferent. As he spoke, his gaze briefly settled on me.
Afraid Tracy might accidentally make things even worse, I hurriedly changed the subject. “By the way, Tracy, Ethan is arranging for someone to show you around Thiynia. Didn’t you mention wanting to visit the castles here?”
Tracy’s eyes instantly brightened. Then suspicion quickly crossed her face. “The guide isn’t that insufferable Jeremy, is it?”
I couldn’t help laughing. “No, it’s not him.”
But before I could continue, Ethan’s phone suddenly vibrated on the bedside table.

He glanced at the screen and pressed the speaker button. The very next second, Jeremy’s irritatingly loud voice blasted through the room.
Lianne’s POV:
Jeremy’s voice rang through the phone. “Ethan! The elders are forcing me back to handle some territorial disputes. I’m stopping by the hospital for a meal and to say goodbye before I leave. Don’t even think about refusing, I’m already downstairs. Bye!”
The vein at Ethan’s temple twitched. He was just about to call someone and have Jeremy blocked from entering when I gently reached over and pressed down on his wrist.
“Let him come,” I said softly. “You know what Tracy is like. She’s always been unusually tolerant of handsome men. And Jeremy may have a terrible mouth, but he doesn’t actually mean any harm. Tracy won’t hold it against him.”
The hospital’s top floor offered premium service, with chefs brought in from Michelin-starred restaurants.
Not long afterward, the dining room table was filled with an extravagant spread of dishes, each one beautifully prepared and fragrant.
When Tracy saw the meal, including truffles flown in from overseas, she couldn’t help muttering quietly, “So this is how rich people live? Even hospital food looks like a banquet.”
The dishes had barely been served when Jeremy stormed into the room with his usual energy.
Without the slightest hesitation, he pulled out a chair and sat down. His wandering eyes swept across the table before eventually settling on me.
“Lianne, you have no idea how talented Silas is!” He grabbed a lobster claw and started eating while talking. “I took him to a simulated shooting range once. His reaction speed and accuracy are incredible. Honestly, he was even better than Ethan when Ethan was his age. And he’s a lot more entertaining too.”
A faint smile appeared on my face. Any conversation involving my children always softened my heart.
Unfortunately, Jeremy’s next comment instantly froze the atmosphere.
“Hey, Lianne, why don’t you have one for me too?” he joked casually. “Just make him exactly like Silas. I promise I’ll spoil the kid rotten.”
The silver fork in Ethan’s hand struck the plate with a sharp, jarring sound. The entire dining room fell silent.
