Chapter 534:
“I don’t think this situation is the same as the others.” He pressed a light kiss to the side of my neck. “I know Jeremy better than anyone. If all he wanted was a casual fling, he wouldn’t be putting this much effort into pursuing Tracy. Lianne, he’s serious about her. He just hasn’t figured it out yet.”
I let out a sigh, then told him the truth. “But when Tracy hit on him, it was only because she thought he was handsome. She never once considered building a future with him.”
“Oh?” Ethan suddenly paused, looking amused.
He leaned close to my ear, his warm breath brushing against my skin. “Then when I insisted on keeping you by my side back then, and you never rejected me… was that because you were only interested in my looks too?”
The question left me speechless, and my face immediately flushed.

“So I guessed right.” He lightly grazed my earlobe with his teeth. “Lianne, I think it’s time we establish a rule. Other than me, you’re not allowed to look at any man with those kinds of thoughts.”
“You’re becoming more and more controlling,” I mumbled under my breath. “You’re always making rules for me. I’m your mate, not one of your employees.”
“Mate?” A look of satisfaction flashed across Ethan’s face. Then he scoffed. “If I don’t keep a close eye on you, won’t you run back to Frank? And as for Brian, I still haven’t forgotten what he did. The only reason he’s gotten off this easily is because of you.”
The moment Brian’s name came up, the warmth in my heart disappeared.
He had endangered my daughter for his own selfish reasons. That was something I could never forgive.
“He should pay the price for what he did. I’m not going to ask you to spare him,” I said. Then I deliberately changed the subject. “I’ve been thinking about when I should bring the children back. Frank has looked after them for such a long time. If I suddenly show up and take them away, it feels unfair to him.”
As soon as Frank’s name left my lips, Ethan’s eyes sharpened. He immediately replied, “We’re going back next week.”
“Next week? But your injury…”
“It’s almost completely healed.” He cut me off before I could continue, his tone leaving no room for discussion. “Noah already booked the tickets. Lianne, I’m not giving you another chance to change your mind.”
I understood immediately what he was really thinking.
He couldn’t tolerate the idea of our children staying with Frank for even a moment longer. In Ethan’s eyes, Frank was a rival.
However, I knew he wasn’t entirely wrong. This issue couldn’t be avoided forever. Delaying it would only make things harder.
I drew in a deep breath, picked up my phone, and called Tracy.
When I told Tracy I would soon be taking Ruby and Silas back to the Thorn Pack, and that they’d be living with Ethan from now on, the other end of the line fell silent.
