Chapter 559:
Fortunately, it was a weekday, so tourists were scarce, and the peaceful, understated allure of the old town lingered quietly in the breeze.
“Are you getting cold?” Ethan asked, his arm circling my shoulders and tugging me gently against him.
“Not really. And I wouldn’t mind something cold,” I said, nodding toward a tiny stall nearby that was selling popsicles.
Less than a minute later, I was holding a frozen treat.
The first velvety bite melted on my tongue, sweet and creamy, and the dull ache in my chest began to ease.
“Do you like it?” Ethan looked down at me, his eyes overflowing with affection.
“Mhm, it tastes exactly right.” I narrowed my eyes in satisfaction, enjoying the treat as I licked it happily.
Ethan immediately made a call. “Noah, I’ll send you a photo of the popsicle. Find out who makes this brand. Buy a large shipment and send it home. And have a dedicated freezer installed for it.”
“Don’t!” I quickly stopped him, unable to suppress a laugh. “Ethan, eating it here is part of the experience. If I could have it every day, it wouldn’t feel special anymore. Do you always have to take everything to extremes?”

Ethan arched a brow. Although he didn’t argue any further, the natural authority he carried still made my heart flutter.
Hand in hand, we strolled along the streets like any ordinary couple.
Every now and then, Ethan would stop and awkwardly use his phone to take pictures of me.
Watching the usually commanding Alpha carefully crouch and search for the perfect angle was unexpectedly endearing. His serious concentration gave him a charm I hadn’t noticed before.
When we finally arrived at St. Sonia Cathedral, the view before me instantly stole my breath away.
The blue sky stretched endlessly overhead like a precious jewel, while the cathedral’s red-brick walls and emerald-green domes gleamed brilliantly beneath the sunlight. The blend of exotic architecture and rich history created a breathtaking scene.
“What a sight!” I murmured.
Without thinking, I pulled out my phone, eager to capture the moment.
Ethan, who had been quietly watching me, suddenly walked over to a nearby tourist who was sketching the scenery.
A few moments later, he returned carrying a borrowed sheet of paper and a pen.
“What are you doing? Planning to draw something for me?” I teased.
“Just wait, you’ll see.” He smirked, and his pen moved across the page with complete focus.
He drew two little cartoon versions of us, then added a slightly lopsided heart between them and carefully wrote down our names.
“How cheesy,” I said, barely holding back my laughter.
Ethan held up the paper and pointed toward the cathedral. “Take a picture. Let’s get our names and the cathedral in the same shot.”
As the camera shutter clicked, I stared at our names on the screen, and a sudden wave of emotion tightened my throat.
“I’ve always loved Gelidmark when it snows,” I said softly, gazing at the cathedral’s green dome. “I think it would look even more beautiful covered in snow, like something straight out of a fairy tale.”
