Chapter 563:
He stood casually against the doorframe, dressed in a dark gray silk shirt with the top buttons undone. The fading scar on his chest was visible beneath the open collar. There was something effortlessly attractive about him, rugged yet refined in a way that drew the eye.
He let out a soft chuckle and added, “If you like them that much, I can have Noah buy every factory that makes these things and send you as many as you want. Why bother packing them so carefully?”
I shot him a look. “Ethan, that’s not the point.” I shook my head helplessly. “Souvenirs matter because of the memories attached to them. If you buy them in bulk, they’re just ordinary products. They wouldn’t mean anything.”
Ethan closed the distance in just a few steps. He bent down and lifted me into his arms.

The faint scent of wine lingered on his breath as he nuzzled closer, making my heart skip a beat.
His hand wandered along my waist as he spoke. “In the three years we were apart, in all those moments with other people, did you ever think of me?”
At last, he asked the question he had been holding back for so long.
He was trying to steal a kiss, but I turned my face away, choosing instead to tease him. “What do you think? Aren’t you always claiming that you can read my mind?”
A smile tugged at Ethan’s lips. “I don’t have to guess.” His arms tightened slightly around me.
He dropped his head and rubbed his nose gently against mine. “Lianne, I know I’ve always had a place in your heart.”
No one knew me better than Ethan.
He had never used his Alpha status to force me into anything. He was patient and persistent, quietly working his way into every part of my life.
Most men would have walked away long ago. They would have found someone easier to love, someone more open with their feelings.
I traced his defined jawline with a finger. “You’ve become so much more patient with me.”
“Because you’re the only one I want.” He caught my hand, brought it to his lips, and pressed a gentle kiss on my fingers. His eyes held nothing but sincerity. “No one can replace you, Lianne. Even if you were cold as stone, I would still take you home and keep you by my side.”
The raw honesty in his words stirred emotions I had spent years trying to bury.
I lowered my eyes. “I’m not easy to love. I worry too much. I’m overly cautious. My mind is always imagining the worst outcome before anything even happens. Sometimes I get annoyed with myself and wonder why I can’t be more carefree like Tracy. Being with me must be tiring…”
Before I could look away completely, Ethan clasped both of my hands and held them firmly, making me raise my head to meet his eyes.
