Chapter 635:
The words struck me so suddenly that my mind went blank.
“You’re… you’re sure?” My voice shook as I asked for reassurance. “The defendant is Rola Voss. You know who she is, right?”
Too many attorneys had withdrawn the moment they heard the name. I couldn’t afford to trust this so quickly.
“We understand the situation completely,” the woman replied in a calm and professional tone. “No family name places anyone above the law. If you’re available, we can finalize the agreement within the next hour.”
After the call ended, I stood rooted to the spot for a while, my heartbeat racing in my chest.
I finally found a law firm willing to take on my father’s case.

No matter what had caused this unexpected turn, even if the odds were against me, I was going to grab hold of this opportunity.
Without wasting another minute, I hurried back to Tracy’s apartment and picked up the thick stack of evidence I had reviewed over and over again.
I arrived at Bastion Law Firm shortly after. The office was elegant and had a breathtaking view of the city. After discussion, I put my signature on the thick set of legal papers.
Things were falling into place so perfectly that it almost felt like a dream.
Ethan’s POV
The atmosphere inside the airport’s VIP lounge was frigid.
I placed my phone on the table and rubbed my aching temples.
I had spent the entire night at the hotel looking after Lianne while she slept off the effects of the alcohol. Even in her sleep, her brows never relaxed, and I barely got any sleep.
Now, the exhaustion from the past several days settled over me like a crushing weight, making everything before my eyes seem slightly blurry.
Standing beside me, Noah offered me a cushion. “Alpha, we still have some time before boarding. Why don’t you get some rest?”
I shook my head, refusing his kind gesture.
I knew my family far too well. The instant Bastion Law Firm officially accepted Lianne’s case, the news would reach my family.
As expected, not even five minutes later, my phone buzzed on the table.
The screen displayed Evelyn’s name.
I answered, but before I had the chance to speak, her furious voice came through the line. “Ethan! Have you completely lost your senses? You actually used your influence to help Lianne hire a lawyer? Do you have any idea what you’ve done? You’re the Alpha of the Thorn Pack! By doing this, you’re betraying the entire family and everyone who stands behind you!”
I leaned back in my seat, listening to every harsh accusation. A cold, mocking smile slowly appeared on my lips.
My voice was rough with exhaustion, but every word was piercing. “Evelyn, you should know better than anyone why every law firm in this city refused to take the case. Wasn’t it you and Adrian who secretly pressured them? You wanted to keep Rola’s crimes hidden. Did you really believe your power could cover up the truth forever?”
