Chapter 723

Chapter 723:
Jeremy answered the door. He was wearing a simple gray lounge set with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. In one hand, he held a tiny pink baby romper. The sight of him looked so out of place it was almost funny.
Lianne’s POV:
“Lianne, come here and settle this!” The moment Tracy spotted me, she took hold of my hand and launched into a complaint. “Take a good look at what Jeremy picked out! Seriously, what kind of taste is this? That color is outdated. If my daughter grows up wearing clothes like these, she’ll have no fashion sense at all!”
I glanced over at Jeremy. He didn’t look bothered in the slightest. Instead, he wore a patient, affectionate smile. Clearly, Tracy’s endless complaints had long since become part of their everyday life.

I couldn’t resist teasing her. “Come on, go easy on him. It’s Jeremy’s first time being a father. Don’t be so hard on him.”
Tracy lifted a brow, gently rubbing her rounded stomach. There was playful confidence in her voice as she said, “He was the one who insisted on being with me no matter what. Since he wanted this so badly, he should learn how to look after both me and our baby, and deal with my temper while he’s at it.”
The joy shining in her eyes told me everything I needed to know.
Those two truly belonged together. One loved to tease, and the other happily accepted it. Their constant squabbling and playful complaints were simply another way they showed how deeply they cared for each other.
Jeremy rubbed the back of his head, then headed into the kitchen to prepare a seafood feast. The atmosphere in the living room suddenly went quiet.
The smile on Tracy’s face slowly faded. She looked straight at me and said with a serious expression, “Talk to me, Lianne. How have things been between you and Ethan lately?”
I paused, unconsciously running my fingers along the strap of my handbag. Then I answered softly, “We haven’t spoken in a while.”
Ever since I walked out of that villa, Ethan had disappeared from my life.
There were no videos of Ruby and Silas, no business messages, not even the briefest text.
It was as though a sharp blade had severed all ties between us.
“Jeremy happened to glance at Ethan’s phone earlier,” Tracy said, leaning in with worry. “Every single conversation was about work. There wasn’t one personal message, nothing about you. Lianne, do you think Ethan has really decided to let you go?”
I dropped my eyes to the coffee cup in my hands. Keeping my voice calm, I answered, “It’s for the best. He’s gone back to his world, and I have my own problems to face. It’s better if we don’t interfere in each other’s lives.”
“It’s for the best? For whom?” Tracy let out an annoyed snort and gently tapped my forehead, as though trying to knock some sense into me. “Wake up! Do you even realize who Ethan is? He’s the Alpha of Thorn Pack. Countless she-wolves dream of becoming his mate. If he really chooses someone else, you’ll be left with regrets.”
Would I have regrets?
