Chapter 750:
Noah went still for a second before he understood what I meant. “I’ll have a car ready to take you to the courthouse right away. I’ll also arrange a seat for you in the public gallery…”
“That won’t be necessary,” I cut him off coldly. “Keep my return confidential. Don’t tell Jeremy, and don’t let this get out. No one should know I’m back.”
As Noah turned to leave, I spoke again without taking my eyes off the view outside. “Get me a used, ordinary car and leave it in the underground garage.”
Though Noah clearly didn’t understand why I wanted it, years of ingrained loyalty made him nod and accept the order without asking anything further.
I had no intention of driving the Maybach to the courthouse. It was far too recognizable and would draw unnecessary attention. All I wanted was an ordinary car that could blend into the endless stream of traffic, unnoticed. I planned to sit quietly in a corner of the gallery, watching Lianne from a distance.
I didn’t want to interrupt her or let her know I was there. I only wanted to see with my own eyes that she was safe.

Lianne’s POV
As soon as I stepped out of the car and headed toward the courthouse entrance, a cold wind swept over me, making me shiver.
Tim was already waiting outside with his legal team. The moment he saw me, he walked over with calm confidence, carrying himself like a man certain of victory.
“Lianne, don’t worry. We’ve prepared for everything. The evidence against Ivy is solid and irrefutable. It’s unlikely she’ll escape the death penalty. We’ve also submitted a significant compensation claim. Whatever the court decides, we’ll make sure you get the best possible outcome. And if the verdict isn’t satisfactory, we can always appeal.”
I listened in silence, looking up at the solemn emblem above the courthouse doors. Finally, I answered calmly, “Tim, no matter what happens today, I won’t file an appeal.”
Tim looked visibly surprised. He adjusted his glasses, then tried to persuade me. “Our firm will handle every step of the appeal. You won’t have to worry about anything. We’re confident we can win even more for you…”
“I said I won’t appeal.” I turned to face him, my expression steady and unyielding, my voice leaving no room for negotiation.
By now, Tim understood the kind of person I was. When it came to legal matters, I trusted his professional judgment completely. But when it came to decisions I could make for myself, I never sought advice, nor did I leave room for discussion.
This was my fight. Whether I won or lost, I would bear the consequences.
As I passed through the security checkpoint, the metal detector beeped sharply, briefly pulling me back to reality.
I walked into the courtroom and took my seat, my eyes immediately settling on the nameplate at the defendant’s table.
I murmured under my breath, “Dad… I hope you’re watching. I finally made it to the day when justice would be served.”
The calm I had forced myself to maintain for so long began to crumble. My eyes stung, and everything before me slowly blurred.
