Chapter 787:
I raised my tear-filled eyes to meet his. “These past few days… I feel like I’m losing myself. The only escape I can think of is death. I keep seeing things that aren’t there. Every time I look toward the rooftop, it feels like someone is standing there, calling for me to jump…”
His pupils shrank instantly, and the terror on his face was palpable, an expression I’d never seen on him before.
He wrapped his arms around me with overwhelming force, holding me so tightly it hurt.
“Don’t you dare think about that again! Listen to me, Lianne. I’ll take you away from here.” He clasped my hand and added firmly, “We’ll take Ruby and Silas with us and leave the Thorn Pack behind. We’ll get out of this miserable place. I don’t care about my family anymore. I don’t care about my reputation either.”
“It’s not worth it…” I whispered, shaking my head. “Throwing away everything you’ve worked so hard for, leaving the Thorn Pack, because of me… it’s not worth it.”

“If I lose you, I won’t make it through even one day.” He kissed the top of my head, his voice trembling with emotion, though his determination never wavered. “Even if I have to abandon the entire world, I’ll still choose you.”
My body shivered. The fierceness and certainty in his words sent chills running down my spine.
I grabbed the front of his shirt, desperately trying to bring him back to his senses. “Ethan, have you lost your mind? I’m a nobody. But you’re an Alpha in your prime. You have an incredible future ahead of you, along with power and status. There’s no reason for you to throw all of that away for someone carrying as much pain as I do. You’ll destroy your life!”
“Life?” He gave a bitter laugh. “Without you, my life doesn’t make sense. Lianne, remember this. If you die… I’ll go with you. Even in death, you’ll be stuck with me.”
“You’re insane…” My vision blurred with tears, my voice shaking.
“I am,” he admitted, his deep eyes holding my tear-streaked reflection. “I would do anything for you. Even if I have to drag Rola into court with my own hands and bear the shame of turning against my family, I’d have no regrets. As long as it gives me one more chance to be with you, every sacrifice is worth it.”
Seeing the unshakable determination in his eyes, I let out a weary sigh. “Ethan, I really think you should see a therapist. This obsession has gone far beyond reason.”
He leaned closer, the tip of his nose brushing against mine, his warm breath mingling with mine as he murmured, “I don’t need a therapist. Lianne, the only thing that can save me is you staying alive.”
His affectionate words left me feeling completely at a loss.
I tried to push him away, making one last attempt to reason with him. “Maybe… you’re just trapped by this obsession. You should meet new people. There are so many wonderful women in the world. One day, you might realize that…”
