Chapter 892:
Ethan’s POV:
I returned to the pack. When the car stopped outside the Voss estate, I didn’t get out immediately.
Instead, I stayed behind the wheel, staring through the windshield at the familiar building ahead.
This place held too many memories I wished I could erase. But today, I had no choice but to come.
Just then, Philip walked out of the house. The moment he noticed my car, he quickly made his way over, his brows knitting together in surprise at my unexpected visit.
I stepped out and got straight to the point. “Contact Melisa’s family. Let them know I’m willing to bond with her.”
Philip froze. He looked at me in disbelief, then asked with a deep frown, “Ethan, what are you talking about? Have you lost your mind?”

“No.” I leaned against the car door, my voice calm and steady. “I know exactly what I’m doing. Melisa is using Lianne’s life to force my hand. Right now, I have no choice but to play along.”
After a long silence, Philip finally spoke. “Ethan… you know what kind of person Melisa is. Once you take this step, there’s no turning back.”
“I know.” I gave a small nod. “But I don’t have another choice.”
Philip let out a long sigh. “If you need my help, just tell me. And… I hope one day you can let go of the resentment you’ve been carrying toward the pack.”
I didn’t answer. I simply got back into the car.
As soon as I started the engine, Jeremy called. I answered, and his anxious voice immediately came through my Bluetooth earbuds. “Ethan, have you really thought this through? I’ve sent people to spread the word as you asked, but what if Melisa actually gets what she wants? Have you considered what happens then?”
I tightened my grip on the steering wheel without saying a word.
Jeremy continued, “Once Lianne recovers completely, she’ll probably be devastated by how distant you’ve been lately. And you know Tracy. She called me today and said she’s planning to introduce Lianne to someone new. Apparently, he’s the young president of a business association. He’s from a good family and has a decent character.”
My fingers tightened even more around the wheel. The thought of another man standing beside Lianne… the thought of my children calling someone else Dad… my heart ached so badly that I could barely breathe.
I had never been as selfless as I liked to believe. I couldn’t bear the thought of losing Lianne.
No matter what, her life would always come before mine.
“I know,” I muttered. “But I don’t have another choice.”
Jeremy wasn’t done. “Frank already broke up with his girlfriend because of Lianne. He has become even more forthright about pursuing her. I visited him in the hospital today. He’s recovering well and can walk already. The first thing he asked me was how Lianne has been.”
I had never doubted Lianne’s feelings. I knew she loved me.
