Chapter 894:
Lianne’s POV:
Ethan never came home again.
On the first day, I told myself he probably just needed some time alone.
On the second day, I convinced myself he was simply busy with work.
Then came the third day. The fourth.
Before I knew it, an entire week had passed. He never returned.
Unable to endure the endless waiting any longer, I made up my mind to look for him. After dropping Ruby and Silas off at school, I went straight to the Voss Group.
I used work as an excuse, but the truth was, I just wanted to see Ethan. I knew that once this project was finalized, I would no longer have any reason to get close to him. Near the end of the workday, I checked the company’s system. It showed that Ethan was still in a meeting inside the conference room.
Suddenly, my heartbeat quickened. I couldn’t resist. Even if I could only see him from a distance, it would be enough. I opened the conference room reservation system and entered the familiar passcode.
It was the code Ethan had chosen after we got together, my birthday.

A line of bright red text immediately appeared on the screen. “Incorrect passcode.”
I froze. After a brief pause, I entered it again. The result was exactly the same.
The third time, I carefully pressed each number one after the other, making sure there wasn’t a mistake. The screen displayed the same cold message: “Incorrect passcode.”
A wave of panic instantly gripped my heart. He had even changed our special passcode. It was as if he was erasing everything about us and severing every tie.
Lianne’s POV:
I stared at the red words glowing on the screen for what felt like an eternity.
It wasn’t until my eyes began to burn that I finally realized this wasn’t some cruel hallucination. I drew in a deep breath and forced myself to look away. Then I pushed myself up from my desk and made my way to the elevator, taking it straight to the executive floor.
When the doors opened, I spotted Noah walking down the hallway with a stack of files in his arms. The moment he saw me, his steps faltered. A second later, he arranged his features into a professional smile. “Miss Riley, are you here to see Alpha?”
“He’s in the conference room, right?” I asked without hesitation. “I’ll go find him.”
Noah immediately stepped in front of me, blocking my path. His tone remained courteous, but there was an unmistakable hint of dismissal beneath it. “I apologize, but Alpha is currently occupied in a high-priority meeting and may be unreachable. In the meantime, please feel free to return for now. I’ll be sure to relay your message as soon as the meeting concludes.”
I understood immediately. Ethan had issued strict orders for Noah to keep me from entering.
